International Travel Ready
I have acquired, or are in the process of acquiring, the following documentation to get to and from my destination, wherever on the planet that may be:
TSA Pre-Check, to get through security more quickly on outgoing international and nearly all intranational flights.
Passport, to be able to leave the country and go almost anywhere. Serves as conclusive proof of US citizenship per domestic and international laws and treaties.
Passport card, for land and sea border crossings to and from Canada, Mexico and parts of the Caribbean. Serves as proof of US citizenship per the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.
Minnesota Enhanced Driver's License, for land and sea border crossings from Canada, Mexico and parts of the Caribbean. REAL ID compliant document for flights after 2020-10-01. Serves as proof of US citizenship per the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative.
Global Entry, to get through Customs more easily on the return flight and to be able to use the NEXUS and SENTRI lanes on the return drive from Canada and Mexico.
CLEAR, a way to get through the ID line more quickly at many airports and certain venues in the United States.
All these documents are for the sake of convenience and to relieve anxiety wherever possible.
